During 2003 the present owners of the visitor accommodation purchased a cottage in need of renovation, a derelict barn and nearly 6 acres of land in Śliwnik village. Over the next 2 years the cottage was renovated by the owners Bozena and Mike Mitchell who occupied the building from May 2005.
Early in 2005 the derelict barn was demolished and building of the visitor accommodation and other ancillary buildings commenced. The accommodation was completed and opened to visitors in time for Christmas 2006.
The accommodation is set in grounds consisting of lawns with flower borders and fruit trees, a small private park containing Oaks, Maples, Silver Birch and Acacia together with a small meadow.
The gardens, parkland and meadow are accessible to all residents and contain a barbeque area, an area for bonfires and a large sun terrace with access to an indoor swimming pool. The sun terrace is provided with ample tables, chairs and sun loungers for those wishing to relax outside.
The site also contains secure car parking and purpose built boarding kennels for 10 dogs, which are available free to those visitors who wish to bring their “Best Friends” with them.
The surrounding countryside is heavily forested and contains a rich variety of wildlife such as Deer, Wild Boar, Beavers, Fox, Hares, Eagles, Buzzards and many other fauna. The area is also home to visiting Storks and Crested Cranes during the summer. The area is generally flat and is ideal for cycling and walking. Cycles can be hired and horse riding and fishing are available within 1 mile.
